Molechecks Australia
Skin Cancer Diagnosis
|
At Molechecks Australia our trained Doctors and Melanographers use the latest technologies to significantly increase early detection, diagnosis and treatment of melanoma and other skin cancers.
How is Molechecks Australia different to other Skin Cancer Clinics?
Every mole digitally assessed
Not all early melanomas are visually obvious – that is why we assess all moles on the body.
Often it is believed that only large lesions (over 5mm) need assessment. However, relying on digital micro-images, we have detected many early melanomas less than 2mm in diameter. The abnormal features that identified the mole as a potential melanoma risk were not visible to the naked eye. Almost all of our patients diagnoses with melanoma were not aware of its presence on their body.

Latest image enhancing technology
Our dermoscopic technology (Molemax® and Siascope®) allow us to look through the surface layer of skin to view a magnified image of the pigment and skin structures beneath.
Magnifying glasses and headsets can only inspect skin at 10X, compared with our dermoscopes, which can achieve up to 30X magnification. This is essential for clear and thorough viewing of the cell structures beneath the skin.

Digital images of skin and abnormal moles saved for future comparisons
Image capturing is the only accurate way to compare, review and identify changes.
The review process has enabled diagnosis of melanomas that did not have obvious abnormal feature.
Dermoscopy allows changes to be detected within a fraction of a millimetre. Changes this small would otherwise go undetected.

Outstanding melanoma diagnosis rate
We have diagnoses over 150 melanomas in recent years – most of them at a very early stage.
Early detection saves lives.
Many more basal and squamous cell skin cancers (more common than melanoma) have also been diagnosed.

Highly trained Doctors and Melanographers
Our Doctors and Melanographers have post graduate Certificates in Dermoscopy and many years of experience between them.
There is ongoing development and training in dermoscopy technologies, procedures and systems, so that we can maintain a consistently high standard of patient care.
