Services and Fees

It is important to remember that Melanomas can occur on any part of your body, not just where you have had sun exposure.

For a whole body screening the fee is $200

(For children up to 12yrs fee will vary depending on time taken)
Plus a doctor's fee that will be covered by Medicare rebate.

This service includes:

  • Photo mapping of the body
  • Scanning of moles (Pictures of abnormal moles will be stored in the computer for future review)
  • Diagnosis of the images stored
  • All visits for review of images within 12 months of the date of the initial mapping
Please Note: For the majority of people the time allowed for a whole body screening is adequate, however there will be a number of people for whom the screening process will take longer (those who have dysplastic nevus syndrome in particular). It may be necessary to make another appointment to complete the screening. The fee will be calculated at $100 per half hour or part thereof after the initial hour of screening.

The fee for a Part Body Screening is $50 to $100
Plus a doctor's fee that will be covered by Medicare rebate.

The fee will depend on the number of moles to be mapped and the time taken to complete the screening.

The body areas are:
  • Head & Neck
  • Back
  • Chest
  • Arms
  • Legs

Please Note: Complete and Partial Body screening fees do not cover treatment costs.

To maximise the benefits of a screening, we encourage patients to attend follow-up appointments for review of the images stored.

Preparing for screening appointments

To enhance our ability to assess the skin we request that no make-up be worn for screening appointments.
Moisturiser without sunscreen or tint can be used
Deodorant can be used (it will not affect our screening process)

What to expect at a screening appointment

Most whole-body screening appointments will take approximately 1 hour.
It would be beneficial for you to provide us with information regarding previous mole removals and relevant information about family or personal melanoma history
